May 2. The birthday party organized for 2 celebrants gathered 50
participants — the smallest ones and young adults in Beitenu. As always the
party was designed in a captivating form. The most moving moments were the
congratulations and presents coming from the kids — other programs'
participants.
A new program
As Migdal JCC has always been paying a special attention to intellectual
development of its members, the educational management of the center does its
utmost designing new varieties of mental activity within the programs.
A new element of a pilot sub-program — to advertise the event in the city
— is focused on greater number of people to be involved. All those who wish
to participate in the game are admitted before an hour the game starts, and
have training in a preparatory team. The first Sunday gathered more than 50
people, but the educators' expectations for future are much higher.
Polina Blinder, Assistant Director of Migdal JCC, leads the game in an
invigorating and empowering way.
For the first time in their lives the Beitenu kids took part in a broad
intellectual game displaying the knowledge they had gained.
May 9. Jewish Tradition classes devoted to Lag-ba-Omer were held in a
picturesque place in the vicinity of Odessa for 24 Mazal Tov families and many
other Migdal participants. The total number of those happy participants
including grannies and grandpas constituted 150, and all of them were involved
in preparations for the celebration: Beitenu kids built a cozy shelter of
brunches, Mazal Tov mothers created a home atmosphere, and fathers did their
best to adapt the environment for various activities and entertainments.
The aims of the seminar — integration within the community, unity in groups
and families, and improvement of the level of knowledge on Jewish Tradition
— were successfully accomplished.
May 14. Youth and Family Department functioning at the Odessa Municipality,
organized the competitions to discover the best Odessa's family. One of the
Migdal's family took part by invitation. The contest was interesting by the
fact that that the competitors' list was multinational. The competition
consisting of different stages and activities empowered participants to
display their level of knowledge, sense of humor, quick wit, etc. The Migdal's
family, after thorough preparations, presented their knowledge and abilities
obtained in the center. As a result, the Jewish family captivated the audience
and received the nomination “the most colorful family” absorbing artistic,
musical and masterly features.
